ABOUT CHISHOLM SERVICE
Three generations, one family legacy, and the best team around to get the job done.
1971
IT ALL STARTED WITH VIC AND HIS VAN
Vic Chisholm learned heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. When he came home to Alamance County, he got certified and started the business. By the late '70s, he'd grown it into a company running commercial contracts from Florida to Virginia, and later built out the retail and residential divisions that Chisholm is known for today.
FROM FATHER TO SON
Vic brought his son Mike into the shop at age 8 and had him installing systems by 14, rotating him through every division so he'd understand the business inside and out. When Vic passed away suddenly in 1996, 25-year-old Mike stepped up to lead the company. "When you grow up in this business, working at it every day, you tend to get it," Mike says.
CONTINUING THE LEGACY TODAY
Nearly 30 years later, under Mike's leadership, Chisholm has nearly tripled in size — something he credits to his team: "We have a lot of really good, smart people who have been here a long time." Mike still lives in Alamance County with his wife Michelle and their two kids, Maddie and Miller — both of whom now work alongside him, carrying the family business into its next generation.
